The Five Elements:  their Attributes and Correspondences

The elements are the foundation and building blocks of spiritual and magickal workings.  Spend time with each element.  Learn about it.  Watch it.  Feel it.  Smell it. Taste it.  Listen to it.  Meditate with it.  Experience it until you understand the "essence" of it.  It is not the memorization of lists and information...it is UNDERSTANDING each element deep within your soul.   Lists such as this one are NOT the KNOWLEDGE, but rather the intital road sign to get you on your way.  Until you master this,  you cannot truly master spiritual and magickal workings.


EARTH
  Direction: East (in some traditions it is North)
Rules: stability, foundation, groundedness, the body, growth, sustenance, nature, material gain, money,
standing stones and rocks, mountains, crystals, jewels and metals
 Zodiacal signs:  Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn
 Colors: greens, browns
Tools:  Pantacle, salt
Spirits/elementals:  the Gnomes, ruled by Ghob
 Watchtower/Angel/Guardian: Ariel (Uriel)
Time: dawn
Season: spring
Which of the 4 Winds:  Boreas, Ophion
 Sense: touch
Jewel: diamond, rock crystal
Incense: storax
  Plants: comfrey, hyssop,  ivy, grains, barley, oats, rice, rye, wheat
Tree:  the Oak

  Goddesses: Ceres, Demeter, Gaia, Rhiannon, Persephone, Kore, Rhea

FIRE
Rules: energy, faith, heat, flame, strength, passion, will, blood, life force, sap, healing and destroying,
purification, bonfires, hearthfires, candle flames, the Sun, deserts, volcanoes, all eruptions and explosions

Colors:  blue, blue/green, gray, indigo

Spirits/elementals:  the Undines, Nymphs and Neriads, ruled by Necksa

Tools: wand, censor or thurible, staff, incense
Spirits/elementals:  the Sylphs ruled by Paralda

 Rules: the center and circumference of the Circle, throughout and about, transcendence, transformation,
change, everywhere and nowhere, within and without, the Void
  Colors: iridescent, white
 Tools: the cauldron, bell, oil, human-made artifacts
 Time: beyond time, all time as one
Season: the turning of The Wheel
Sense: hearing
Jewel: amber, opal
Incense: sandlewood
Plants: mistletoe
 Tree: Aspen
Animals: the Sphinx
Goddesses/Goddesses: Akasha, all Gods and Goddesses
Community bests shows Spirit in its interactions with each other.  It is within ourselves amongst
 the community the the works of Deity are truly seen.
